SFP’s AI Policy
Artificial intelligence is changing how we work, communicate and access information. AI can help us read large volumes of text faster, analyse material and make information more accessible. At the same time, the technology can be used to mislead, manipulate and spread false information. As a political party, the Swedish People’s Party of Finland (SFP) has a particular responsibility to ensure that our communications are reliable and clear. We therefore follow these principles when using artificial intelligence.
AI must not be used to mislead
SFP does not use AI to create fabricated images, videos, voices or statements that lead people to believe something has happened when it has not. We do not create deepfakes or other material that imitates individuals, political parties, public authorities or other organisations in a misleading way.
SFP is transparent about how AI is used
Text that has been generated primarily by AI and has not been reviewed and finalised by a human must be labelled as AI-generated. Images, videos and audio that have been created or substantially altered using AI must always be clearly labelled. When AI is used to support brainstorming, proofreading, translation or similar tasks, and the final content is reviewed and finalised by a human, it does not normally need to be labelled.
A human is always responsible
AI is a tool. Material created with the help of AI must always be reviewed by a human before it is published or used in SFP’s name. Responsibility for the content always rests with us, not with the technology.
SFP protects personal data and confidential information
Personal data, information from membership registers and other sensitive or confidential material must not be entered into AI services. We use AI responsibly.
How SFP uses AI
Within SFP, we use AI to find and process information more efficiently and to support effective work across the organisation.
AI can support tasks such as information searches, analysis, writing, translation, brainstorming and other content production. The other principles in this policy apply regardless of which AI tool is used. However, AI can provide incorrect, incomplete or misleading answers. We therefore check important information against reliable sources before using or publishing it.
SFP does not allow AI to pose as a human
SFP does not use AI systems to automatically generate and publish comments or posts on social media or other public platforms in a way that misleadingly suggests the content was written by a human.
Particular responsibility in election campaigns
We do not create deepfakes or other material that misleadingly imitates real people. SFP’s candidates also commit to refraining from creating AI-generated images, videos or other material that misleadingly portrays them or others in a misleading way in an election campaign.
SFP strengthens AI literacy
AI is developing rapidly. SFP therefore provides ongoing training for staff and party representatives on how AI works, the opportunities the technology offers and the risks that need to be managed.
